What’s the difference between a stun gun and a taser gun?
While both use electricity to incapacitate an attacker there is a major difference.
Taser devices use two projectiles to complete a circuit to incapacitate an attacker. Initially made for law enforcement, they come in several shapes and sizes. Most are shaped like a gun for ease of use.
Stun guns also use electricity but use pain compliance and require direct contact with a subject to work. We have had a lot of interest especially with people worried about animal attacks.

Taser Device
By delivering an electric shock through two projectiles, a person is incapacitated. If used properly, there is almost no chance of causing injury to the person being tased. The greatest advantage that a taser device has is that it allows you to use it from a distance. Up to 15 feet away.
The electricity completes a circuit to over stimulate the voluntary muscles in the body to cause them to “lock up.” The person is incapacitated safely and is unable to continue in their attack. They will fall to the ground for the duration of the cycle. The Pulse + device that is used in our training classes cycle for 30 seconds which will allow you and your loved ones to escape to safety.
They come in several shapes and sizes. All of the various devices will be covered in the class so you can choose the best one for you and your situation.

Stun Gun
Stun guns must make contact with the subject to work and therefore require close proximity.

Differences
Distances:
The taser devices can shoot their projectiles up to 15 feet away, whereas the stun gun must make direct contact with the subject.
Depending on your circumstances, both are great devices, pick the one right for you and your loved ones.
Size:
There are several devices both for the taser and stun guns. We will allow you to handle several of the devices and talk about the others that are available to you. Generally, the stun guns are heavier than the taser devices. The Pulse+ that we will use in the class is very small and light and very easy to carry. The stun guns are a little bulkier but could also be used as impact devices should such a need arise.
Price:
The stun guns are generally less expensive than the tasers. After handling the various devices and thinking about your situation, you can choose the appropriate device for you.
